🌿 Whakawhanaungatanga with the Healing Plants of Aotearoa 🌿

Time: 10: 30 am 31st August ( Sunday )

Location: Meeting at Betsy Eyre Park, 120 Brook Street

Join Jingjing for a gentle 2.5 to 3-hour guided walk along the brook, discovering the edible and healing plants growing around us — their names, stories, traditional uses, and the relationships they hold with people and the whenua.

🌱 As the cost of living rises, nature reminds us of its endless generosity. Wild foods offer more than nourishment — they carry mauri, the life force and connection of the natural world.

This is more than a plant identification walk. It is an invitation to slow down, observe, and build meaningful connections with plants, people, and the whenua through whakawhanaungatanga.

🌿 During the walk, you will:

🌱 Learn how to identify common edible and healing plants
📖 Hear the stories and traditional uses of plants in Rongoā Māori
🤲 Explore respectful harvesting practices and ways to care for the whenua
🌸 Connect with plants through seeing, touching, smelling, and tasting
📚 Receive a 50-page learning guide to support your ongoing journey

🌼 Who is this for?
Perfect for beginners, nature lovers, families, and anyone curious about traditional wellbeing practices.

No previous plant knowledge needed — just curiosity and an open heart. 💚
Wheelchair friendly.
